Extract from the association statutes of "Active unemployed Austria"

§ 1: Name, seat and field of activity

  1. The association bears the name “Active unemployed Austria - Society for the promotion of interests and activities of the unemployed and precariously living people”.
  2. It has its seat in Vienna, Krottenbachstrasse 40/9/6 and extends its activity to the whole of Austria.
  3. The establishment of branch associations is not intended.

§ 1a: Principles

The association is politically independent, non-denominational and critical of ideology. The association is committed to the basic values ​​of democracy that is as free as possible from power and human rights

§ 2: Purpose

The association, whose activity is not aimed at profit, aims

  • The promotion of grassroots union self-organization by the unemployed, disabled and precariously working and living people.
  • Achieving the best working, income and social conditions, safeguarding human rights and expanding democratic participation through trade union actions;
  • Commitment to a democratic economy, society and politics free from lies and violence.
  • Informing the public about the concerns of the people organized and represented by the active unemployed Austria.
  • Promotion of solidarity between the jobless and the unemployed among each other and between the unemployed and the working population.
  • Enforcement of human rights in continuation of the education in particular the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the European Social Charter, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, the ILO Conventions and the European Convention on Human Rights.
  • Overcoming the discrimination against people without gainful employment and people in precarious living situations through society, the economy and politics.
  • Influence on the development of social security institutions - especially the labor market service - and participation in these institutions as a self-organization for those affected;

§ 3: Means to achieve the purpose of the association

  1. The purpose of the association should be achieved through the non-material and material means listed in Paragraphs 2 and 3.

Serve as ideal means

  • Creation of information pamphlets and publication of media
  • Organization of political, informative, cultural, social and sporting events.
  • Drafting of applications, petitions and submissions of all kinds to legislative and law-enforcing bodies as well as to interest groups, including those of the EU, offices, authorities and social insurance.
  • Creation of spaces and infrastructure for activities by people looking for work and people living precariously.
  • Establishment of a library.

3) The necessary material resources should be raised by

a) Entry fees and membership fees

b) Income from events or from the company's own activities,

c) Donations, collections, bequests and other donations.

§ 5: Acquisition of membership

  1. Members of the association can be all physical persons who support the association's goals, as well as legal persons and partnerships with legal capacity. Ordinary members can only be physical persons.
  2. The board decides on the admission of full and extraordinary members. Admission can be refused without giving reasons

§ 6: Termination of Membership

  1. Membership expires through death, in the case of legal persons and partnerships with legal capacity through loss of legal personality, through voluntary resignation and through exclusion.
  2. The resignation can take place at the end of each month. It must be communicated to the board in writing at least one week in advance. If the notification is made late, it will only take effect on the next departure date. The date of posting is decisive for timeliness.
  3. The board of directors can exclude a member if the member is in arrears with the payment of membership fees for more than six months despite two written reminders setting a reasonable grace period. The obligation to pay the membership fees due remains unaffected.
    The expulsion of a member from the association can also be ordered by the board due to gross violation of other membership obligations and dishonorable behavior. In particular, these are repeated sexist, racist or other activities that discriminate against other people.
